Objective

Construct an observatory for astronomical research.

Status

We have a 10″ reflecting telescope which is fully automated. In the process of finding a suitable location.

Project Oculus is a large reflecting telescope with a companion supercomputer. This facility will be used for both research and amateur observation based in the North Island of NZ. The telescope will be equipped with facilities to allow long term research in areas of astrophysics and cosmology. It will be a permanent base with living quarters, lab and resource centre.

We also anticipate for this centre to be a ground station for later projects including Project Auto-Launch and Project Ex..

The Webcam we installed is not the greatest but we managed to get a good look a Saturn.
